1.  All contents found on this website, including but not limited to all Statistical Information (as defined in paragraph 2 below), Permitted Contents (as defined in paragraph 3 below), text, graphics, drawings, diagrams, photographs and compilation of data or other materials (the “Materials”) are subject to intellectual property rights which are either owned by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region ("the Government") or have been licensed to the Government by the owner(s) of intellectual property rights of the Materials to deal with and/or sub-license the Materials for the purposes of all activities contemplated on this website.

2.  Unless otherwise specified, visitors to this website can download, print, adapt, distribute, reproduce and hyperlink to the following specified statistical information published by the Census and Statistics Department (“C&SD”) on this website ("Statistical Information") free of charge for both commercial and non-commercial purposes:

1. Tables, publications, charts, datasets, reports, articles, classifications, concepts and methods, interactive statistics, press releases, presentation slides for press conferences and media briefings, educational materials and teaching kit (excluding any maps, photographs, graphics, drawings, logos, audio files and video files found thereon).

3.  Save and except for Statistical Information, visitors to this website are permitted to download, print, adapt, distribute, reproduce and hyperlink to all other contents found on this website in which the intellectual property rights belong to the Government (excluding any maps, photographs, graphics, drawings, logos, audio files and video files found thereon) ("Permitted Contents") for personal or educational purposes, provided that the Permitted Contents must not be used for or in connection with the following purposes:

1. conducting any direct marketing activities and/or disseminating or circulating any part of the Permitted Contents for any unsolicited publicity or advertising materials;
2. advertising and/or promoting any goods or services; and
3. sale or exchange of any part of the Permitted Contents for any benefit, gain, profit or reward.

4.  Without prejudice to paragraphs 2 and 3 above, visitors who download, print, adapt, distribute, reproduce and/or hyperlink to the Statistical Information and Permitted Contents shall comply with the following conditions:

1. acknowledgement must be given to the 2016 Population By-census Website as the source of the Statistical Information and Permitted Contents in any copy or copies made by the visitors ("Visitors’ Copies") and any subsequent copy or copies that may be made by the recipients of the Visitors' Copies ("Subsequent Copies"), including but not limited to paper copies, digital copies and copies placed or posted on websites;
2. the Government must be acknowledged as the intellectual property rights owner of the Statistical Information and Permitted Contents in any Visitors’ Copies and Subsequent Copies; and
3. any modifications made to the Statistical Information and/or Permitted Contents in any materials or documents derived therefrom must be clearly indicated.

5.  Use of the Materials on this website in any way or for any purpose other than those provided in Paragraphs 2, 3 and 4 above shall be subject to prior written consent of the Government.  Requests shall be addressed to the C&SD via email at webmaster@censtatd.gov.hk.

6.  Please note that the permission given in paragraphs 2, 3 and 4 above does not extend to any contents on other websites linked to or from this website, or any contents on this website, the intellectual property rights of which belong to a third party.  Authorization or permission to use, reproduce or redistribute such contents must be obtained from the owners of intellectual property rights concerned.

7.  If there is any inconsistency or ambiguity between the English version and the Chinese version of this Intellectual Property Rights Notice, the English version shall prevail.
